Your personal Bluesky Fagspose handle

In July 2023 Twitter became X. Many people did not like it, including me. Many alternatives were created. Bluesky is the winner.

Although Bluesky is not perfect (yet), it has several advantages over X. Privacy has priority. You control what you see and who can see what you post. No spam bots and fake accounts. No shadow bans. Adult content is allowed, as long as you mark each and every post as such.

On X you can buy a blue icon. In the past that indicated a trusted account. Now it only means that you pay for X. Elon loves your money so everybody can buy the blue icon. Since summer 2025 adult content on X is blocked in some parts of the world, unless you pay for a subscription.

Bluesky also offers a blue icon for verified accounts and that really means the account is genuine. Unfortunately that verification is not offered to adult content accounts.

The Bluesky handle

Bluesky offers a second solid trustworthy way to verify ownership of an account. With the handle (username). Now it is getting a bit nerdy. But not too much.

A standard Bluesky account is in this format: https://bsky.app/profile/YOURNAME.bsky.social

If you own a website, you can change YOURNAME.bsky.social to your domain name!

The main Fagspose account is: https://bsky.app/profile/fagspose.com in stead of fagspose.bsky.social.

This is not only shorter, but only possible for the owner of the domain to create. It only requires adding a DNS record.

And the good thing is that your old handle will not become available for others to use.
